Follow Your OneDrive Favorites in Salesforce

Stay in Sync With Your Favorite Files

Whenever there is a file you’re interested in in SharePoint, you can track the document of your choice by following it to keep a close eye on it and any updates regarding your document.

Not all workflows work flawlessly and always get updated. Because of this, most users tend to favorite or follow files that they need to stay on top of.

Favorite Files within OneDrive, including information when they became a favorite and when they had last been changed or updated.

Q!365 solves this problem. After receiving customer feedback, we figured out a way to incorporate favorite files in OneDrive into Salesforce. Throughout the entirety of Salesforce and SharePoint, you can now keep your eye on files and folders you need the most.

To start, simply favorite a file, which can be done with a click on the Star icon. Your favorite folders both in SharePoint and Salesforce get updated. From this point onward, any change in the documents will be visible to you at first glance. All your important sources stay on your homepage and are available at a moment’s notice. Any changes made will be updated and display with the newest changes on top.

All your favorite files within Salesforce, in this case in order of recent changes.

What you can see here is the view within Salesforce itself. By default, it simply shows up on the right of your Home screen. The placement, as always, is up to you if you prefer it elsewhere. You’re able to favorite any sort of file or folder and have everything you need about the document at your very fingertips!

Deep-diving into the information

In most cases, when you’re working on any given material with others, it can be very difficult to follow changes and updates.

“Who changed what and when?”, or “Was it even a person from my department?” become common questions. Questions which almost always end up taking time and effort to answer and slow down efficiency.

Clicking the three dots next to your favorite file leads you to the following options: "Open in Microsoft 365", "Open Editor's Profile", "Unfavorite" and "Properties".

Simply click the three dots on your favorite file and this little window pops up. Now you can check its properties, unfavorite it if you so choose and, more importantly, open the document in Microsoft 365 or even open the editor’s profile.

By doing the latter action, you get taken to the overview on that person in Microsoft365.com and can quickly access important data to get in contact with said person. Whether it’s about changes made, following up on new leads, giving feedback or anything else!

By clicking on "Editor's Profile" you get all the information on who edited the document and how to get in contact with them.

Connect your Co-Pilot

Whenever you open a document in Salesforce you also open SharePoint and thus have access to Co-Pilot (if you have the license). This allows you to quickly get a refresher on documents you may have not worked with in a little while or get the important bullet points when talking to a customer.

Use Co-Pilot in your favorites to summarize, answer questions or learn more!

Connect to your Co-Pilot powered SharePoint Agent

Now, if you’re working with a lot of fact sheets or long documents and you linked your SharePoint Agent, you can use the help of Co-Pilot. Summarize any documents or folders and get the most out of Co-Pilot and its capabilities!
